Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ Maple Fingerboard Black

Besides looking bad*ss in black and maple, the volume, tones and character of this bass makes it easily one of my favorites. The neck is unusual in that it's completely void of urethane finish; it feels "raw" although very well-sanded. But my favorite feature are the pickups. Paired with my Acoustic B300HD/Fender Rumble 700w 2x10, the P pickup crushes my little studio with thunder. Wow. The J pup has the familiar "snappiness" and mid-freq presence so many modern bassists enjoy. I bought it primarily for practice and band rehearsals, and as a backup...but I now consider it good enough for gigs. Finally, I'm very pleased that the bridge is of a quality that permits pretty low action, a must for all of my basses. Should you be on the fence about buying this bass, I suggest finding a GC that has one in stock/on a hanger and giving it a spin in person. Then you can compare it to Squier CV and Fender Mexi basses. The weak point, and is common with lower-priced basses, is fret sprout, sharp fret edges. But even so it's really not that bad. I have had my eyes on this bass for about two months before I got it on sale. I am a life long guitar player that has dabbled with bass but now want one to take it a little more seriously. I am a Fender guy, and really wanted a Fender P bass…but now I think I am set for far cheaper! Setup, finish, and neck are all great! I love my new thumper!

I like them so much I have all 5 of the Affinity squier p/j basses 2021 series great sound great quality great feel no problem staying in tune great looking as well can't go wrong with these basses quality is as good as fender players in my opinion
