Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster FMT HSS Main Features

- Maple neck with slim C profile, maple fretboard
- Dual Affinity Series single-coil pickups, bridge humbucker, 5-way switch
- 2-point tremolo, sealed split-shaft tuners
Classic Body Style With a Fancy Top
This Squier has the same double-cutaway body style that Fender made famous in the ’50s. It's made of poplar, a balanced tonewood that allows the pickups to shine. The flame maple veneer top gives this Strat extra elegance.Easy-to-Play Neck
The FMT HSS has a maple neck with slim C profile, which means the back is shaped like a rounded oval. It's a comfortable fit for the fingers, making it easier to form chords and solo. The maple fretboard adds snap to every note. Check out that headstock logo, too—the chunky block text is straight from the ’70s.Versatile Pickup Combination
This Squier Stratocaster FMT HSS is loaded with three pickups for sonic versatility. The "H" stands for "humbucker"—it has a more aggressive sound suitable for classic rock to slow blues, metal and more. The "SS" refers to the two single-coil pickups, which have a brighter, tighter tone. This HSS configuration makes the Squier Strat fit into all genres of music.Updated, Fail-Safe Hardware
The Strat FMT HSS has updated hardware that makes it easier for beginners to play. The tremolo unit mounts to the body in two points, rather than the traditional six. This creates less friction for more tuning stability. Thanks to their split-shaft design, it's a cinch to change strings—just thread each through the body of the guitar, insert the loose end into the tuners and turn to tighten. Unlike other guitars, this design eliminates sharp string ends that can poke fingers and damage gig bags.A case for the Squier Stratocaster FMT HSS is available separately.

Mixed thoughts...
So without getting into to much detail, I ordered a brand new guitar and was told it would come in a factory packed and sealed box. What I got was a possible Demo, floor model or retuned Item, packed and wrapped in a ton of bubble wrap with an exposed headstock, upper "Horn" and a crushed Taylor carton. After discussing the issue with G.C. rep I was given a Credit. Brought the guitar to a Guitar Tech to have it set up. Once the pickguard was removed to raise the P/U's to the proper height ,it was discovered that the screw on the Humbucker on the Low E side was stripped and bent presumably at the Factory (That's why I feel the guitar may have been a return) As I had planned to eventually modify and replace the Pick-ups I've decided to have my Tech replace the Humbucker and as there was/is NO shielding to add Shielding paint to the P/U cavities. I Love the feel of this guitar and the Neck is really comfortable. My Tech was really impressed with the feel, tone and playability even before the setup and Humbucker issue. I would suggest that before purchasing the guitar, especially online, to have it inspected!!

Sharp Frets not recommended for young beginning players.
Looks good, Sharp frets need work. Ringing G string on overdrive may need string tree?

Being around garage bands in my teens i always wanted to learn to play. This guitar produces great sound and brings me back to thise days, for the price point and as a 39 year old with no playing experience this is a great beginning point to start your journey.
Super Quality!

Beautifully made guitar. The construction and finish lack nothing. It came set up with a nice low action. The C- shaped neck makes it very comfortable to play. The tremolo arm is super sensitive. I purchased this guitar because I wanted one with a humbucker in the bridge position. The humbucker is not as bright as the single coils on my other guitars and has the sound I was looking for. Overall I am pleased with the electronics. Tuners are solid and have a good feel. There are no cons to this guitar that I can find. IMHO it is one of the best values out there.
I would purchase again :)

I'm currently getting back into playing the guitar and this model just really blew my mind. Despite the price, this guitar punches above it's weight and looks awesome while doing so. After trying out various Strats, this model really impressed me with it's versatility and quality.
