Fit and finish are excellent. Especially for the price of a Squier bass. The se up is perfect and it plays like a dream. The Precision pickup sounds great. I've played guitar for decades and I'm having blast learning on this bass.

  • I love it.

I am enjoying this bass, I wish I would have splurged for the fender though. There are some minor issues I am noticing like a buzzing with certain frets, maybe it just needs to be set up as it was given to me right out of the box

  • These basses are very well built.

Got this as a backup bass. Very well built for not only the price but could pass for a more expensive instrument. Loved the neck profile, was a slim jazz bass feeling neck profile, the pickup sounded good with good output. The frets were level and the setup was good.

  • great

The instrument seems to be stable, neck hasn't moved since I brought it home. Pickups sound fine, not muddy or harsh. Tuners are easy to turn and most importantly, hold tune. Fit and finish in this price range is very good. Satisfied with this purchase.

Why does the description state that the Sonic Precision Bass has a "laurel" fretboard, but the photos show that it has a maple fretboard?

I’m sorry, I don’t know. It's the same fretboard on the Fender web page.

Is it possible that I can get a sort of trial period to be sure it's the bass I want, or return it and get my money back if it's don't what I'm looking for?

An unfinished neck would be a satin finish. It's not a satin or a gloss, it's a semi gloss.
