I bought this for my little sister who has been playing my old violin for a few years now. She's a little shy of practicing since we live in an apartment. This fixes that issue as it is pretty quiet with headphones on. The bow is really cheap though and no matter how much rosin I put on it it had no grip. It didn't make a sound. She ended up using her old 3/4 bow to practice. If you can spend an extra 50 bucks or so to get a good bow then it's fine. The other thing is in tuning. It doesn't hold for almost anytime at all. You have to constantly tune it. You also have to press on the pegs rather hard while you do so or else it loosens up immediately. For the price it's okay.
Great violin for practicing with a full house.

I am an adult novice and have found it hard to practice with a house full of people. Not only does a regular violin interrupt them, but their noise distracts me. The EVN 44 combined with a good set of noise-canceling headphones (the headphones that are included in the kit are workable, but a comfortable pair of noise-canceling headphones are a better pairing) allow me to be in my own musical world while I play. When not plugged into an amp the sound is lower than an unplugged electric guitar; but when plugged in, the sound is very pleasant and also allows you to play with effect pedals for different playing experiences. A few have complained about tunning issues. I have had success with EVN 44 staying in tune by just pushing the pegs in while tunning. This has helped me in the past with keeping traditional violins in tune and has worked just as well with the EVN 44.
Quality Instrument.

Very pleased with how it sounds on good headphones. Great for playing in a condo or shared living space. Only one minor problem. One of the bow holder clips was broken when it arrived.
Awesome buy!

Does this come with headphones? Also, can I use a regular violin bow on this?
No. This doesn't include headphones, but you can use a regular violin bow on it.
