I saw a musician playing the glockenspiel in a movie and I was instantly bitten by the glockenspiel bug (in a good way!). I play drums and want to add a few interesting accessories, and the Alto is perfect. I did a lot of research and Studio 49 Series 1600 is perfect size and perfect price for me. The instrument came all assembled ready to play, with cute small plastic mallets. Don't be fooled by the small size, it is high in pitch and perfectly tuned. Even if you don't play (but you will because it's very calming), it looks nice as a work of art and the yellow color is very distinguished. My bf borrows it to learn music notes, and now he's not giving it back so I may have to get the Soprano one for him. The Musician's Friends' staff are always super awesome with helping me select the right instruments, thanks so much.
