The TAMA Starphonic Concert snare drum features a 7-ply, 6 mm maple shell for a warm and versatile tone. The Starphonic concert snare has a similar shell construction and hardware to the Bravura, but is equipped with an entirely different snare system. This snare uses two different wire materials and no snare frame. This simpler assembly produces a more “gut” style response and tone, but still offers plenty of range to tailor the sound of the drum to the individual player’s needs and preferences.
