The Taylor Gold Label 517e Grand Pacific acoustic-electric guitar is a masterful blend of vintage-inspired tone and innovative design. Part of Taylor's exclusive Gold Label Collection, this model features the new Deep Body Grand Pacific shape, offering a 3/8" deeper body for enhanced low-end power and projection. The torrefied Sitka spruce top provides a warm, aged character, while the mahogany back and sides deliver a balanced tonal foundation with rich midrange warmth. Equipped with Taylor's patented long-tenon Action Control neck and fanned V-Class bracing with tonal routing, the 517e offers exceptional resonance, sustain and improved intonation. Its meticulous craftsmanship is complemented by elegant aesthetic details like the crest inlay motif and cream binding, making this guitar as visually striking as it is sonically impressive.

Deep Body Grand Pacific Shape for Enhanced Resonance

The Gold Label 517e's defining feature is its 3/8" deeper body design, which transforms the Grand Pacific shape into a tonal powerhouse. With increased body depth, this guitar produces a deeper resonant frequency that amplifies low-end warmth and power. The extended "lung capacity" of the deeper body enhances projection, ensuring a commanding sound whether you're playing to an audience or recording in the studio. Treble notes gain added warmth, while chords resonate with cohesion and clarity, creating a balanced tonal profile suitable for expressive playing styles. The Gold Label Grand Pacific design sets this model apart with its unique blend of vintage depth and modern clarity.

Torrefied Sitka Spruce and Mahogany for Rich Tonal Character

The torrefied Sitka spruce top delivers a vintage-inspired tone with improved resonance and dynamic response. The torrefaction process, which ages the wood through heat treatment, gives the guitar an open, played-in sound right out of the case. Paired with a mahogany back and sides, this combination produces a tonal palette marked by warm mids, crisp highs and a focused low end. Together, these tonewoods create an instrument that delivers both power and nuance, ideal for players seeking bold projection and harmonic complexity. The tonal rout incorporated into the fanned V-Class bracing further refines the sound, enhancing sustain and providing superior balance across the frequency spectrum.

LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics for Natural Amplified Tone

The Taylor Gold Label 517e is equipped with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics, ensuring a seamless amplified experience. The behind-the-saddle pickup system captures the guitar's natural acoustic character, translating its warmth and clarity with stunning fidelity. Onboard controls for volume and tone allow players to fine-tune their sound for live or studio environments, while the advanced preamp design minimizes feedback and distortion. These controls are located discretely at the top of the soundhole to preserve the traditional look of the acoustic guitar. Whether performing on stage or recording in the studio, this model's electronics provide consistent, professional-grade sound with intuitive functionality.

Elegant Aesthetic Details With Premium Taylor Craftsmanship

From its Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge to the Firestripe pickguard, every detail of the 517e showcases Taylor's commitment to artistry. The crest inlay motif, inspired by a red-tailed hawk feather, adds a unique visual touch to the fretboard and headstock. Cream binding with black and white purfling enhances the guitar's refined appearance, while the gloss finish highlights the natural beauty of the tonewoods. The single-ring rosette in cream and black complements the understated elegance of this instrument, ensuring it stands out visually as much as it does tonally. Built with longevity in mind, this guitar ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case for premium protection.

A Premium Acoustic-Electric Built for Players Seeking Bold Tone and Superior Playability

The Taylor Gold Label 517e Grand Pacific is ideal for musicians who demand a guitar with expansive tonal depth and exceptional craftsmanship. Its deeper body shape and torrefied top deliver a warm, resonant sound perfect for expressive playing, while the long-tenon Action Control neck provides effortless fretting and ergonomic comfort. Whether you're gigging, recording or performing at home, this acoustic-electric guitar offers the reliability and tonal richness to inspire creativity.

Played a bunch of guitars today at Guitar Center. This was by far the best sounding to my ear. Better than higher-priced Martin and Gibson (and Taylor) models. Great balance, very responsive to an easy touch. Just want to research a bit more before pulling the trigger.
