collapse expand iconDescription

The Taylor Gold Label Series 814e Super Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar represents a bold step forward in acoustic guitar design, combining Taylor's renowned craftsmanship with innovative features and a vintage-inspired sound. This guitar, featuring a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top and solid Honduran rosewood back and sides, delivers a warm, rich tone with exceptional clarity, projection and sustain. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a passionate enthusiast, the 814e is ready to inspire your musical journey.

Super Auditorium Body Shape—A New Era of Acoustic Design

The 814e introduces Taylor's new Super Auditorium body shape, a refined take on the classic Grand Auditorium design. This body style offers a slightly longer body and a wider lower bout, resulting in a "classically proportioned set of curves" that delivers a balanced and resonant tone with a focused midrange. The Super Auditorium shape is ideal for a variety of playing styles and musical genres, from delicate fingerpicking to powerful strumming.

Fanned V-Class Bracing—Unleashing the Guitar's Sonic Potential

This acoustic-electric guitar features Taylor's innovative Fanned V-Class bracing, a new variation on their revolutionary V-Class bracing system. This bracing pattern features a fan-like arrangement of braces in the soundboard's lower bout, enhancing the guitar's midrange frequencies and low-end girth. The Fanned V-Class bracing also retains the benefits of traditional V-Class bracing, including improved volume, sustain, responsiveness and pitch accuracy.

Premium Tonewoods—A Symphony of Warmth and Clarity

The 814e is crafted with a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top, a process that enhances the wood's resonance and produces a warm, aged tone with exceptional clarity. The solid Honduran rosewood back and sides complement the spruce top, adding depth, complexity and a touch of vintage warmth to the guitar's voice. This combination of premium tonewoods creates a versatile instrument that's capable of handling a wide range of musical styles and techniques.

L.R. Baggs Element VTC Electronics—Amplifying Your Acoustic Voice

The 814e is equipped with the L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup system, ensuring that your amplified tone is as rich and expressive as your acoustic sound. This high-quality pickup system captures the nuances of your playing with exceptional clarity and detail, delivering a natural and balanced amplified tone that's perfect for stage and studio performances.

Exquisite Appointments—Elegance in Every Detail

The 814e is adorned with exquisite appointments that enhance its aesthetic appeal and contribute to its exceptional tone. The genuine West African ebony fingerboard and bridge provide a smooth and responsive playing surface, while the Micarta saddle and TUSQ nut ensure optimal intonation and sustain. The guitar's natural gloss finish highlights the beauty of the tonewoods, while the Gotoh 510 Antique Gold tuners with ebony buttons add a touch of elegance. The 814e also includes a Taylor Deluxe hardshell case with a "British Cocoa Bronco" vinyl exterior for safe and stylish transport.

I've used Taylor guitars for over 20 years. Candidly my sound palate had broadened over the past few years and I found myself drawn to warmer guitar tone. I found myself being attracted to guitars with more full range of sound having more bottom end and yet crisp highs. The Taylor Gold Label 814e with rosewood has pulled me back to the Taylor fold. It plays well and sounds like a vintage instrument. The details at every turn make this a work of art. The case that comes with this guitar is a perfect match too. I suspect when I'm long dead and gone this guitar will be a family heirloom to future generations. Thanks to Jake, Andrew, and Barrett at the GC Nashville store!!!

  • Unlike any Taylor I've owned, and I own a lot.

THIS is THE Taylor for those who have qualms with Taylor's "hi-fi" tendencies. In particular, the Honduran Rosewood version that I now own is SUPREMELY evenly lush across all strings. The BASS is incredible and well-sustained. Even after just a few days, it's already noticeably opening up, and it getting better by the day as many new guitars do. Playability is the best I own, even without doing my own extensive setup work (nut files, truss-rod, shims on other Taylors) and I haven't even played with the amazing new adjustable neck design yet! Also... The non-Taylor LR Baggs pickups are actually INCREDIBLE. I run two Fishman Artist acoustic amps IN STEREO, and WOW. BY FAR the best pick-ups compared to any of my 7 other accoustic pickups including two different Taylor pickups, Fishman, Alvarez and Cordoba. This is instantly my favorite guitar, and couldn't be happier. I would really recommend the Rosewood over the KOA in this case, if you want lush bass and full spectrum evenness. Just absolutely gorgeous sounding guitar that bridges the gap between the typical Taylor sound...and Martin. If Taylor and Martin had a kid...it might be this one. High recommended.
