I was looking for an excellent medium and easy playing mouthpiece as an alternative to a large baffle metal one I've been using for years. The medium baffle is just right and this mouthpiece responds beautifully with good projection and dynamic range. Using with rovner versa-x. Would like to try the theo wanne ligature one day
I really love playing on this Slant Sig MPC!

This is a fantastic all-around mouthpiece. It has a sweet tone that also has some projection and edge to it. It is not a super dark MPC but it can play very warmly, and it is not a bright MPC except it has some brightness available when you push it. I think it can handle everything between a super dark and super bright tone. The best thing about it is the response, playability, and even intonation it provides. I have the tenor size 8 Slant Sig v2. It feels quite free blowing and very responsive throughout the horn's range, including altissimo -- quite a pleasure to play. It is reed friendly. I also have and play Theo Wanne Durga 9 (version 1), and the blue ART Shiva 2 (size 8), both also fantastic MPCs for my tenor sax. But those are twice the cost of the Slant Sig, which I actually enjoy playing more. I prefer to record with the slant sig, and anything more intimate or lower volume. During loud amplified funk/rock performances I may prefer the Shiva just to cut through. I think this Slant Sig at half the normal Theo Wanne price is a fantastic option.
