These Vater 3A drum sticks are formed from hickory—the most popular drum stick material. Hickory is dense and strong so it is resistant to chipping and breaking. Stronger than maple, it also absorbs a lot of shock. As a result, these sticks lessen wrist and hand fatigue while playing.

    These are well balanced durable sticks. I have played everything from Promark to Vater but these Vic Firth drumsticks may be the best. I love the feel of these sticks and the length and diameter are perfect for me.

    My favorite sticks. Perfect weight, dimension and balance for the music I play. Unfortunately, they will start to splinter fairly early on, making them unusable. I then take off the Vater grip tape and save it for another stick.

    The drumstick itself is fine, great stick. The weight of the sticks suck, no consistency there either very light or very heavy.
