The profiles and sizes of the Vater Classics Series drum sticks have been some of the core models in the drum stick world since the birth of the “trap set”. Jack Adams [Alan & Ron Vater’s Grandfather] even hand-turned some of these drum stick profiles at Jack’s Drum Shop in Boston back in the 1950s and '60s.

Vater is revisiting some Vater History with the launch of Vater Classics. The six core models are lathe turned to their classic specs and profiles, just like they made back in their barn in the 1980s.

Each of the Classics Series sticks features a slight modification to each of the popular models as well as an acorn tip that fits the style of stick it's on. From the rounded acorn tip on the 2B to the small acorn tip on the 7A or the standard acorn tip on the 5A and 5B, these sticks deliver a full sound from drums and cymbals and are balanced for responsive and dynamic feel that meets the needs of the hands they're held in.

    I was looking for a replacement stick for the Regal Tip Jazz Drum stick with a nylon tip. It looks more like a 8A sized stick (slightly thinner than the Vic Firth 8DN or a Vater 7A nylon). What do you have with these parameters? It's a shame Calato went out of business. I loved their sticks.
