    I love the normal X5B sticks and thought these would be the same. Not quite... The coating is more of an eggshell texture vs. the thin lacquer to the OG X5B sticks. The paint does appear durable though! Second issue is the weight. The original non-painted sticks I have on hand weigh 64 grams each which I love. For the black version, out of the 4 sets, two weighed 55 grams and the rest were at 57g, 58g, and 59g with the each pair being off a gram off in either direction; meaning the pairs didn't not weigh the same. Other than that, they will be fine for practice but I'll keep my normal X5B's for the stage. Also, it seems that these can be hard to find which is why I'm holding on to them even if they aren't 100% what I expected.

    I got these sticks because my local was out of the normal 5B Extreme. They are very slick when your hands get slightly sweaty. The weight of all the pairs I have just seem super light and almost soggy to me compared to the regular ones.

    Have preferred the Extreme 5b natural but GC only had the black finish. These feel like they have more heft to them than the natural. So, don't miss a cymbal or they may go flying. The black is holding up better than I thought it would since I tend to chew up sticks. Overall very pleased.
