What don't I like about it? Truthfully...not much! I started out with a Yamaha DTX 500 and eventually upgraded to a DTX 502 (not much difference between the 2). Those 2 Modules are still kicking after 13 years or so, along with all the pads that came with the 500, which speaks to the quality Yamaha provides in all their products. I've always been a believer, and everything from my drums to my mixer, electric guitar, bass and drum pedals are all Yamaha. Now I'm not a pro drummer by any means, I've only been playing since I bought my DTX 500 kit and that little guy taught me a lot...all self taught through tons of practice of course and utilizing all the teaching tools the Modules have to offer. Now...finally, I own the DTX 10K-X and where do I even start....it's amazing, the build quality, the sound, playability, learning tools, and all the extras that I'm not used to having are all top notch. It sounds and feels like an acoustic kit with all the extra bells and whistles. My only gripe, and it's not even a major one...I wish they would have had a TCS head on the kick pad vs. a mesh one. Does Yamaha even make one? I'm not sure but I feel like I'm partial to the KP 100 (not sure if that's the right model) but the Kick Pad that came with my DTX 10 is no slouch...does the job nicely as well. As far as price, some might think it's steep, but I was willing to pay more than what I actually paid for mine so as far as I was concerned it was a good deal! Others might feel different but it's personal preference...I thought it was worth it. To sum it up, if you're a beginner or advanced or any level between...I highly recommend it. And not to mention it looks fantastic, the rack system is phenomenal and solid and really gives the kit an aggressive yet sleek look. I love it...a lot! If you are looking to take your drumming to the next level...this is the kit! This is not a Roland or an Alesis household, it's Yamaha all the way! Happy drumming! #sweepstakes
