Great Guitar, Ridiculously Low Price

Just getting back into playing again after many years. Since I had sold all my guitars except for one acoustic 12-string, I decided that I wanted to get a low-priced 6-string to practice with before moving to a Martin, Taylor, or Gibson. After reading the reviews of the FG800J, I drove to Guitar Center and bought one. What I will say is that for the money, this instrument is top-notch. The setup was perfect out of the box, and the sound is deep, rich, and something that you would expect from a guitar costing five times as much. It may even be better than that! I may even get another one! Anyway, buy this guitar. You won't be sorry you did!
Great experience and great guitar!

We had a fantastic experience at the Guitar Center in Maple Grove! My daughter was looking for an acoustic guitar. Bria helped us throughout and was so kind, patient, attentive, and really listed to what we were looking for yet also shared her expertise. Amazing customer service!!
Nice bass and tone

I spent the day driving to 6 guitar stores looking for something around 1k or less that had a nice deep sound that would be ideal for playing bluegrass rhythm and flat picking. I was disappointed with my options. I was willing to pay 1k but honestly wasn't all that impressed with what was offered around that price point. I picked up this inexpensive Yamaha on a whim fully expecting it to sound high and dull but was instead quite impressed with its loud resonance, clarity and deep bass. It's not the most beautiful guitar but it's also not unattractive or flashy. The neck is a little thicker than I would have liked (I have short chubby hands) but it's alright and the finish on the neck looks great and the pegs are quality. The action is nice, not high, not low. The strings don't buzz. I think the FG200J will keep me happy for years and even if I "grow" beyond it I can keep it around as a decent back up. I feel like I've saved the extra $700-900 that I would have spent on a low end Martin and still got something with a quality sound. Now I can use those savings down the road on something truly special and not just acceptable which is what the newer 1k priced Martins felt like to me.
I would buy this again

I have been playing guitar for forty years and this is the best affordable new guitar i have ever owned. Great tone! I love the neck shape, the string height and action are perfect no buzz no sharp frets and less than $300. Go to the store and try it out it's awesome.

I recently purchased the FG 800 J Sandburst from Guitar Center. The quality of this guitar is incredible especially for the price. The sound is amazing. The action was lower than anything I've ever played and it wasn't buzz. It was good so everything you've read positive about this. Guitar is true. A word of caution. The neck on this guitar is a lot thicker than the FG 830. I loved it and I hated to return it, but I wouldn't play it because of the neck I have short stubby fingers so it did not fit comfortably in my hand, but if you've got normal to long fingers, you're gonna love it. I don't believe you can beat it for the price. I hope this helps my fellow musicians.
Best Guitar Ever!

This guitar is awesome. I use it to relax and enjoy playing and singing some of my favorite music! It is a great looking-looking guitar, too. It's a little bigger than my other guitar, but not at all uncomfortable. I j love the sound of this guitar, especially when I use my pick. I highly recommend it!
