collapse expand iconDescription

Take the renowned quality and reliability of Yamaha's beloved F335 acoustic guitar, add versatile onboard electronics and a comfortable cutaway, and you get the exceptional Yamaha FX335C dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar. Built for players needing to plug in without sacrificing that classic Yamaha tone and feel, the FX335C is the perfect, stage-ready evolution of its purely acoustic sibling. It offers the same dependable performance and balanced sound, now optimized for amplified playing and easier access to higher frets.

Stage-Ready Amplification—Reliable Piezo Pickup System With Tuner

The core strength of the FX335C lies in its dependable piezo pickup system, transforming the proven F335 platform into a versatile performance tool. This system faithfully captures the guitar's natural acoustic voice for amplification, featuring intuitive controls for volume and tone (EQ) to easily shape your sound for any venue or PA system. Critically for performers, it also includes a convenient built-in digital tuner, ensuring you're always pitch-perfect without needing extra gear. This reliable electronic package makes the FX335C an outstanding choice for live gigs, open mics or recording.

Classic Dreadnought Tone—Spruce Top Guitar With Nato Body

Inheriting the tonal blueprint of the F335, the FX335C boasts a resonant spruce top paired with nato back and sides. This classic wood combination delivers that sought-after dreadnought guitar sound—strong projection, clear highs, warm mids and a satisfying low end. The dreadnought body shape maximizes volume and sustain, making it ideal for powerful strumming, flatpicking, and vocal accompaniment. It's the balanced, familiar Yamaha acoustic tone, ready for any musical style.

Effortless Playability—Comfortable Slim Neck Profile With Cutaway Access

Yamaha guitars are famous for their comfortable playability, and the FX335C upholds this standard. It features a user-friendly slim neck profile that feels great in the hand, reducing fatigue during longer playing sessions. The smooth rosewood fingerboard provides an excellent fretting surface. Crucially, the added cutaway grants easy access to the upper frets, expanding your melodic possibilities beyond what the standard F335 offers. This makes it an incredibly approachable and rewarding guitar for players of all levels.

Built Yamaha Tough—Durable and Stylish Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Just like its F335 counterpart, the FX335C acoustic-electric guitar is built to provide years of reliable music making. Featuring durable construction, dependable chrome tuners for stable tuning and a sleek finish, this instrument is designed to handle regular playing, practice and transport. It embodies Yamaha's commitment to quality craftsmanship, offering impressive longevity and consistent performance, making it a smart investment for any guitarist needing a workhorse acoustic-electric.

An Acoustic-Electric Guitar Designed for Performing and Recording Guitarists

Body crack issues?

Only four stars because the jury is still out on the quality. I went in to buy a guitar for recording and small gigs. I liked the way this guitar played and bought it. I wanted a boxed item and when I checked it over (am I glad I did!!) there was a huge crack at the bottom/back seam and the back of the guitar had separated from the bottom. No damage at all to the packing material/box - this was strange. I went to see if the floor model had too many scratches and found it had the EXACT SAME DAMAGE!. Too much for coincidence. I am waiting for the factory order to come in - just a heads-up for anyone looking at this. I will report back with the wrap up.

Not a Happy Customer

I loved the guitar, but when i plug it in it did not work, recently took it to guitar center to ask for help... the staff was rude and not helpful at all. I have bought many instruments from Guitar center and items there as well. I was super bummed that i will not be spending another dollar there. It was anon busy day for them yesterday and were zero help. I loved this guitar and the fact that i asked this was the first time ever plugging it into my church system and it does not work. I just spent good money on it and just want a good functioning guitar not asking for much!

  • Beautiful guitar, but volume too low

Very nice guitar, but the volume was low for me. (My hearing isn't the best these days, so it might be fine for the younger folks out there.) I suspect the cutaway adversely affects the overall resonance(?), which may be why the volume wasn't quite up to my preferences. It was very nice & easy to play, and I loved the cutaway giving access to higher frets. Unfortunately ease of play is kind of a moot point if you can't hear what you're playing. I ultimately returned it for that reason. If I spent a lot more time hooked up to an amp or a mixer for recording, I might have kept it. It was a joy to play. Also, the built-in tuner seemed to have a bit of a delay and so was kind of hard to use.

The guitar plays nicely and has a good look and feel to it, more solidly built than some of the entry-level acoustic-electric guitars I've played. It stays in tune reasonably well, and the electronics/equalizer seem to work well. #sweepstakes

I bought this and the original one I got the bridge was off center so the low E was almost off the fretboard by the last fret. On the 2nd this was fixed but I realized it had no built in tuner like description said.

I needed an acoustic electric guitar to play with the church band but didn't have a large budget. I listened to the sound of many brands and found the Yamaha to have the best sound for the money.

This guitar is very good. It has served me very well. Plus, it's a great price! I would recommend this guitar to others. I haven't had any issues with this guitar in the eight months I've owned it. If you are considering buying this guitar but have doubts, it is worth it! Overall, it is a great guitar for a great price!!
