This guitar is quite nice for the price point. It was setup good from the factory. Intonation is spot on. And the action is awesome. I'm not getting any buzzing from the pickups or the strings. There is no fret sprout or sharp edges unlike the fender squire strat that i returned. They almost cut my hand it was so bad. The quilted finish is cool. So far i'm loving this guitar.

Playable right out of the box. Pop in the whammy bar and you're good to go. I put on some heavy strings and drop tuned it to accommodate the tension on the bridge, adjusted harmonics and lowered the strings. Sounds great! The Yamaha manual that came with this guitar was the wrong one, but it gave me the gist on how to make my adjustments.

  • I can't put this one down.

This is the best quality guitar at this price point. The setup from the factory is great. No string buzz, low action, and great intonation. The quilted top tobacco sunburst was my second choice as the flametop version was sold out, to which I am happy because it is gorgeous. This plays like a high end guitar.. Great sustain, awesome string bends, and smooth frets. Worth every penny.

The one that I bought is a Tobacco Brown Sunburst color, very beautiful in color. The playability is excellent, the neck feels very comfortable and the action is low. The tone from all the pickup selector from the 5 way switch they all seem to sound a bit too much in "Mids" but you can adjust that on your amp. I have a PAC112J that is 20 years old and the sound from that is nice.

I'm not totally sold on single coil pups. They have their own sound but then there's the hum. Can I switch to the neck & middle pup together position and get the effect of a humbucker?

Switching to the neck & middle single coils on will not eliminate the 60 cycle hum.
