Unbelievable quality for the price

Yamaha once again comes through with amazing quality and craftsmanship for a ridiculously low price. This bass is rock solid, stays in tune regardless of being thrown around the house, and plays like a much more expensive model. Just love it! Paired with a Rumble amp (or any amp with vintage/overdrive options), you can create just about any tone you're looking for despite the absence of a pickup switch available on more expensive models. I'm talking Tool "Schism" right out of the box! Simply one of the best deals around.

Why would I want the same instrument?

My primary instrument away from home and don't worry about damage or giving it away once I fly back home!

This is a great, inexpensive bass. I love that it has 24fr frets. It plays great aside from some slight buzzing on the low E string.

Everything about this bass is amazing from the craftsmanship to the electronics. I have owned this bass for over a year now and everything works the same as it did out of the box. This is my go to bass for playing cliff burton solos, or basically anything else that doesn't need a 5th string. The build quality of this instrument is immaculate for the price. The body shape kind of reminds me of a music man majesty. The fretboard is so easy to move around on, and doesn't really need cleaning after heavy play sessions. Mine is still in mint condition even after hitting the headstock on a wall a few times. The only con is the high end fret buzz that occurred out of the box which was an easy fix by adjusting the action. I suggest getting the violin sunburst color because the picture really doesn't show how nice it looks.

I'm a guitar player who bought this to use for recording (and because I think bass is a cool instrument!). This is very playable, sounds great with my Spark Amp and through my Scarlett 2i2. Though this is low priced, it does not in any way feel like a compromise. I highly recommend it.

What picks should I get to play this bass with? I was thinking about getting the Fender 351 Premiums.
