collapse expand iconDescription

The Zildjian K Custom Hybrid Crash 19" is an innovative cymbal designed for maximum musical expression. Developed in collaboration with renowned jazz fusion drummer Akira Jimbo, this professional-level cymbal features a brilliant unlathed inner half and traditionally lathed outer half for a diverse range of tones depending on where you strike. The thin, responsive bronze alloy opens quickly with a bright, cutting sound due to the unlathed bell, yet maintains enough body and warmth for projection in live settings.

Unlathed Inner Half Provides a Bright, Controlled Sound

The unlathed inner section of the K Custom Hybrid Crash 19" helps focus the sustain and wash for a tight, articulate tone that cuts through dense mixes. This makes it an ideal all-purpose crash for recording, where control and clarity are paramount. The raw, unlathed finish also helps bring out the natural complexity and overtones of the proprietary Zildjian bronze alloy used to cast this innovative cymbal.

Traditionally Lathed Outer Half Adds Warmth and Body

In contrast, the traditionally lathed outer half of the cymbal produces a richer, fuller tone with more spread and decay. Striking the lathed area results in a warmer, more rounded crash sound with a touch of darkness. By combining both unlathed and lathed finishes, the K Custom Hybrid Crash offers a diverse tonal palette for creative drummers to explore.

Thin, Responsive Design Provides Expressive Playability

Despite its relatively thin weight and size, the K Custom Hybrid Crash 19" projects with enough volume and cut to handle live gigs and recording sessions. Its responsive design opens up easily when played lightly, yet retains enough body for aggressive crashing. This highly dynamic cymbal gives drummers maximum versatility and the ability to play with a wide range of expression.

Premium Quality Backed by Zildjian

Handcrafted in the Zildjian cymbal foundry in Norwell, MA, the K Custom Hybrid Crash 19" is made from a proprietary Zildjian bronze alloy and cast using traditional cymbal-making techniques passed down through generations. As with all Zildjian cymbals, the K Custom Hybrid Crash is rigorously tested to ensure premium quality and performance before leaving the Zildjian factory. This professional-level cymbal provides a lifetime of musicality and is backed by Zildjian's two-year warranty.

A Must Have

If you are a serious drummer/percussionist, then this is a must have! I have tested them in multiple playing situations from acoustic driven rock and country to blistering head banging metal and have yet to be disappointed. I also have the Hybrid splashes which are equally as fantastic. They go very well with other cymbals such a the A Customs and even Sabian's Paragons nonetheless! Of course the only gripe I have with the Hybrids is the heavy price tag but you get what you pay for. If you can afford even one of them I highly recommend them!

K Custom hybrid crash

Okay so.... I tried this cymbal at GC, (they had the 17" and 19"). I played the 17" and it was really nice but I prefer 18" crashes. So I bought the 18" and I'm pleased with it; however it's a very dark crash so it's not good for crashing on it over and over. So if you're looking for a bright crash this IS NOT the crash for you. Amazing crash and very beautiful appearance (great quality as well) I'm definitely still going to use it as am offhand crash above the hi-hat, but will definitely buy an 18" A custom crash for a main crash instead.

These crashes sound terriffic, but oh my word do they bend easily... I have only had these for 7 months and the 18" already has divets on the edge, and I am by no means a heavy hitter... I even have a swishing technique whenever I'm playing steadily on the crash to avoid damaging the symbol.
